Selling Of FairChild Seminconductor

OM Semiconductor of Pheonix, Arizona has recently bought Fairchild Semiconductor, which holds 650 workers for 2.4 billion recently. People are nervous because this big sell could mean ends to a lot of Mainers jobs, They haven't released any information about layoffs. A man named Keith Jackson, who is the president and chief executive officer, said that his company will support FairChild well and make it stronger. The deal of selling Fairchild is expected to be final in the second quarter of this year.

Fairchild headquarters were in the South Portland area and later moved to San José, California. Fairchild is expected to save 150 million a year once the sale is completed, so it is actually helping the company out. Because the cost for designing chips are going up and the sales are getting slower, causing a bend of bankrupt.
